How to become a Member?

1. Read the "MareNet Charter" and decide, if you agree with the principles of the MareNet Service.

2. If you are an "International Marine Research Organization"
1. Check that your Web-Server contains a link to MareNet.

2. Inform your members (member societies) about MareNet and ask for a MareNet Membership.

If you are a "National Marine Research Organization"

1. Check that your Web-Server contains a link to MareNet.

2. Inform your members about MareNet.

3. Find a person checking the national links-lists in MareNet. This person should contact marenet@isn-oldenburg.de directly to get informed on how to maintain the link-lists permanently. We will change the Logos on these link-lists to the one of the maintaining institution and your society.

4. Find an institution to set up a national mirror of the MareNet service.

If you are an "Individual Marine Scientist or Institution"

1. Please check, if the links to your institution are correct.

2. Check that your Web-Server contains a link to MareNet.

3. Fill in the Upload-form with professional information on yours, the Institutions Web-master etc.

4. Feel free to set up a national mirror of the MareNet web-sites.

If you are a "Service Provider"

1. Send an Email to marenet@isn-oldenburg.de to inform about the Service you like to offer in the frame of MareNet.
   Please, be aware the service is compatible to the principles of MareNet written down in the Charter.
3. Print out the MareNet Charter and sign it.
   Send the Charter via paper-mail to
